Doing Distortion or Astral on Carl and Noel = bad ending. Maybe even completion the condition for only 1 of the character might get the bad ending(after all you did use distortion on a friend)

Just don't use DD on either Carl or Noel because to get the true ending all you have to do is beat all 3 not use distortion on anyone.

I did that the first time and got the bad ending; just did it again and am going through the true ending. How odd :/

Urgh, Tsubaki you continue to be a thorn in my side and have an more cryptic story arc then any of the Guilty Gear games. The worst part about her story arc is all conversations stay the same until the very end. All relevant characters don't have different lines until you beaten Noel.

Okay going through some player match rooms today I've heard people talking about Tsubaki's storyline and problems they've had or ways they've attained her endings. One interesting tidbit is that you have to use her drive abilities (not distortion) to activate the bad ending but I have had no such luck. I have such gone back to story mode and discovered... absolutely nothing except that whoever programmed her story arc must've been high, drunk or both when they went to work that day.

Fights marked with (DD) means I finished them with her 236236D Distortion Drive. Tsubaki's weapon is completely uncharged

Multiple playthroughs - Ignored Carl
Good ending, always. I theorize you must fight Carl to get the bad ending.

Playthrough 2
Fought Carl (DD), Fought Jin (DD), Fought Noel (DD), Bad Ending.

Playthrough 3
Fought Carl (DD), Fought Jin (DD), Fought Noel, True Ending.

Playthrough 4
Fought Carl (DD), Fought Jin, Fought Noel (DD), Bad Ending

Playthrough 5
Fought Carl, Fought Jin (DD), Fought Noel (DD), True Ending

Playthrough 6
Fought Carl, Fought Jin (DD), Fought Noel, True Ending

Playthrough 7
Fought Carl, Fought Jin, Fought Noel (DD), True Ending

If there's a required amount of damage or something, I do not know the specifics. For all the battles I used the very basic combo;

B > B > C > C > 214A

Then finished them off with 236236D.

I never charged her weapon, never utilized a drive attack or anything else. If a certain amount of drive attacks/damage is required, again I don't know how much. But using the above combo and then finishing with that Distortion Drive WILL get you the bad ending if you use it on Carl and Noel. Maybe when more people have time to play the game, the real requirements will be known but as of now I don't know and I've played through her story mode so many times I don't feel like looking anymore.

I know it sounds unprofessional, but I really have no idea what the requirements for Tsubaki's story mode are. Everyone else has a simple win or lose and her story arc is... something. Any ideas on how I should mark her section of the guide, since what I thought was right isn't?

When I got the True Ending for Tsubaki, I fought Carl, Jin and Noel and didn't use her drive at all. Just combos. I had beginner mode on for easy DD since I fucking hate doing QCF on the PS3 stick.

Perhaps the best course of action is to list all of the possibilities for Tsubaki's good and bad endings?

You dont need to do anything with Taokaka to get Hazama's funny ending. I just got 100% with him and havent even touched her yet.

Weird I just completed each story 100% ("Complete" shows up next to each character) and only beat Hazama in stage 2a as Arakune, it wasn't necessary to lose to him to get "Complete".

Kheapathic: Since you've been denoting whose story opens up other characters stories, I'd recommend denoting that Carl's story opens up Litchi's.

Thank you for the Arakune 2a and the other Hazama ending unlocks a gallery picture. The corrections have been made.

If Tsubaki hasn't unlocked Hakumen I suggest Rachel's story mode (they both share major points with Hakumen) and if that doesn't work then Jin would be my final option. I sadly don't have the time to have multiple runs through the story mode to try and speculate all requirements (not having auto-save would help). But when going through a characters story mode, notice who they interact with most of the time. I'd figure they're a part to unlocking that characters story mode.
