Wow if this works its brilliant. I might go back and plat it. i did do a survivor run and got near then end but thats when my ps3 broke and i lost everything and i couldnt be bothered doing it again. I'm in the eu too so i hope it works. So you've just gotta delete all game data/saves then play offline without updating? then do that thing at the end?

Main difference between the US and jap versions was that US users got the 1.08 update propted after reinstall and the japanese got 1.10 update. Now the EU version also prompts this version (1.10) of the update (mine does anyway...im in Holland isnt that weird???) So....my guess is that it wont work on the EU version. Unless we can confirm that this glitch also workes on the japanese version then we party

if not...life goes on...

Im in germany and also get the update 1.10.
But i guess it depends on the game version you have what update you get.
I have the UK version of the game though. Guess its the same you have with the cardboard cover around the plastic case.

I'm guessing that if you've never updated the game (or you've deliberated deleted the game data), then you'll be prompted to install the latest patch. There's no reason for the game to prompt a 1.08 patch and then a 1.10 patch - it would just get the latest one.

I'm starting from the beginning again, as I missed several audio diaries in my first play through. I've just entered Arcadia. The game is very tedious in terms of collecting all the audio diaries and doing 'research' with the fricking camera. Having to do Electro Bolt, then Research Camera several times, then kill the baddies - this takes fluidity away from the game.

One more confirmation that this does indeed work (on a N. American copy, anyhow). Did it on the first try and worked great, thanks.

Now I need to go back and finish up the tape recordings, maxing my weapons and research and should have the platinum before BioShock 2 arrives.
