Not all the Level 50 rebirths are all that great. In my 30 or so hours playing the MP to get the rebirth trophy, I've come across maybe 3 players that were unplayable and killed me every time unless I just got lucky. The rest of them I could match pretty well, and some of them were downright average players who were pretty slow and easy to deal with, despite the fact they've logged 1000 or so hours into the MP.
Best tactics I found were Bees + Nailgun + Side strafe; the bees will blind the enemy, making it easy for you to strafe around him to avoid his attack and spam the nailgun. That's for when you're up close to them, when there's a bit of distance between you then your best bet is the Electro Bolt + Crossbow + Rate of Fire upgrade, that works like a charm. From experience, I always hated getting hit with either the Bees or the Electro Bolt the most, so it makes sense that using them is the way to go. |

It's ironic, because the consensus after BioShock came out was "Why not Multiplayer?" Naturally, IG had their reasons why they kept the game exclusively Single-Player, and I'm sure that decision factored into it's standing as 2008's Game of the Year. And now here's the sequel, from a different developer, making that "sought after" Multiplayer... and sure enough, for the exact reasons IG suspected, it just isn't any fun, and doesn't work... XD
I know some of these players being complained about are "just that good" but when 1-shotting me comes as a reflex and is instantaneous, whereas everyone ELSE who kills me ends up in a heated fight that lasts a few seconds, I call that bullshit. I got damn good at other shooters, and I never scored easy/instant headshots in Resistance 2. Also these players, all of which seem to think they had to message us, were self-righteous dicks. "I can't allow you [to boost]." Why the hell not? Let boosters boost, and guess what? They're gone before you know it, and your "purebred" Multiplayer will no longer have them. It would be in THEIR interest to leave us alone! But no, they're bigoted crusaders. That's what bothers me the most about any of them...

this game's multiplayer is pretty much a disaster. i'm at level 40, but i feel like i have half or sometimes 1/3 the health as everyone else. the other day, i was killed by a level 2 and a level 3 player! someone fires at me with a machine gun (not a nail gun) and my life just drains so fast. meanwhile, i have to unload a whole machinegun to kill someone. i've tried electricity + crossbow or elephant gun and it still doesn't kill anyone. no one can tell me why this is happening either. i can count on one hand how many times i've gotten a killstreak. i expected that when i was at level 2, but this makes no sense.
multiplayer theoretically would be fun, but it deserves the name "BS Online" in my opinion lol. not to mention no one falls for resurrection or death trap anymore, but that's not the game's fault. i guess i'll continue to play it when i get bored.

or even better - the level 50 rebirther who manages to kill you with a headshot as he/she is jumping AND turning in midair. I never understood playing a game like that - maxing out your character twice-over AND you keep playing...why? Do these people not know that there are other games out there? |

It feels ridiculous at times. I get electrocuted and can't fire a shot before I get one hit killed with the crossbow or a shotgun. I try using similar set ups and can't get shit done. I zap the other person, hit them with the crossbow, and nothing. And for whatever reason when I zap someone, even if I charge it they easily are able to retaliate and kill me no matter what I shoot them with.
Right now there's a pretty good mix of low level players and max leveled players. I've been lucky enough to enjoy hours of play with lower leveled players who are easier to compete with. I think I'm just getting sick of the game though. It was at first fun to hit enemies with powers then mow them down with the machinegun, but now whatever I try I generally can't do shit. You know the game is unbalanced when all the high levels are using the same exact fucking set-up and tactics. |

that's the case with most games that become free with ps+. i always look at the profiles of people i play with or against when new games come out and most of the people playing them are between lvl 2 and 6 with like you said only a couple other games in their library. it is very likely that most people that are playing this game exclusively are little kids who can only convince their parents to let them have 1 new game every 6 months.
