Default Online community?

I bought this game 2 days ago and find the online gameplay real crap atm.

Half the game modes don't have any people in it, and in the matches I do join I am the only one with perfect connection 9/10 times. It's not fun shooting at a target that miraculously disappears because the person in question is lagging hard.

I bought an Xbox 360 solely for Gears of War and was well excited to get Binary Domain on the ps3, but right now it lacks a lot of online players :< I mainly get in lobbies with Japanese players, making me wonder if the western world has even heard of Binary Domain..

I hope this'll change soon as the game itself is nothing short of brilliant.

Yes this game is awesome and more people should play it but it's not going to happen since it doesn't have Call of duty written on the front cover with that being said I consider this to be a niche title and so we shouldn't expect a large number of players

I think sega over estimated the number of players they were expecting and created way too many modes. This game would have benefiitted without the MP but I guess we have to take the good with the bad sometimes.

The community is pretty small at moment and we just got the game on Tuesday 28th in North America so it will take a while for it to build up.

So very true, it amazes me how many people Do Not grasp the concept of ammo conservation in Invasion, and the ever so popular inability to figure out how to buy a med pack. I"m patient with people, but you would think seeing people revive themselves it would click to figure out how or even noticing ammo doesn't reappear except every 5 rounds, all this should be understandable after round 10. Lets not forget the A.D.D. where it's easier to quit than see if player or players left finish the round.

On a side note, I'm hearing the lag is much worse on 360 but I refuse to buy games for mine because those games become useless once the console dies.

It's not only that is isn't a mainstream title... it poorly advertised and it released a week before mass effect 3... you do the math.

Anyone, it's a great game and I'm still recommending it on multiple game sites.

To be honest I'm new when it comes to the concept of buying medpacks but I'm not against it in anyway sure it's a little different but nothing I can't wrap my head around.I've had to buy health in other games like Yakuza 3,4 but this is the 1st TPS game where I've had to do it

Sega has never been great at marketing except when it came to Sonic and even that is somewhat of half assed effort on there part.I had never heard of the yakuza games until somebody mentioned it to me ofcourse I use the word "mentioned" lightly as he was practically hounding me into getting it which I did last year and I totally love the series and the characters now.The only way this game will get any attention is by word of mouth and reviews so far the reviews haven't been amazing but it getting fair scores unfortunately in this day and age people want to see a game get a 10 out 10 before handing over there hard earned dollar and there is nothing wrong with that as along as they know there are other games that deserve as much attention as the AAA titles.

By the way does anybody else think that the MP maps are the worst maps ever? I mean even Quake and Doom have better maps! also the spawn points have such stupid positions since most of them are out in the open and they are always at the same spots. This the first game where I would prefer Sega leave the MP out.

tbh, when you're opening a new series it should be done like uncharted did it. Leave it out or make it optional.

I haven't had any connection problems but I just keep joining full lobbies and the host doesn't start match or anything. It's weird.

I personally liked the demo and i am thinking of grabbing the game, but seeing the online community is not that great, it keeps me thinking

well, how do you compare this to Lost Planet 2 in the term of online community?
LP2 is great but the players are mostly from Japan
And seeing that i want the platinum too, lag is bad

I've never played LP2 so I can't give you a detailed comparsion of the two games but here are my thoughts about Binary Domain's MP

There are a total of 7 modes or "rules" as they are called in the game and out of the 7 only 3 are played frequently which are

Free for all(standard deathmatch winner take all)
Team Death match
Team Survival

Rarely do I see anyone playing the other modes and if you do happen to find a group playing its usually for 2 to 3 rounds before the losing team decides to quit and the winning team usually doesn't hang around either.Depending on what region or country your in the lag can vary.
I noticed your from Singapore based on the flag on your gamecard I.D so maybe it might end up being less laggy for you although you would need to try it out inorder to know for sure.

While this isn't going to be an easy plat due to the numbers of players and also the lack of modes being played, it not as difficult as long as you have a steady stream of boosters and partners for invasion.
