I Need Help Advancing

I'm stuck trying to get into the factory, I have everything including the gun for the hovercraft but the robot guard will not let me in, I've shot at him but they just miss?, my objective is to go to the factory and take a pic but I can't get in, anybody got the answer for me?.

With the upgraded gun, hold down the square button and you'll see "guided missle" type things pop up, then realese squrare, and your off to the factory.
