i'm one of the people who were psyched about MW2 ever since it was announced. then it came out. i got the prestige ed & played about 12 hours straight from midnight, slept about 3 hours, then continued playing online. it's pretty safe to say i was a fanatic.
about a month & a half later, it felt stale. maybe because i sucked all of a sudden (1.41 kdr, 36 win streak, 22.78 accuracy on 1st prestige) or maybe people started camping hella hard just to get the nuke or maybe it's the glitches? either ways, it forced me to stop playin & shelf my MW2. i really tried to see passed the faults but with my stats winding down, i see myself not enjoying the game anymore. i downloaded the BFBC2 beta before but with MW2, i only played once. at 1st i was weirded out by the controls but i got used to it. i'm surprised on how different it feels from the 1st. i love how they made it so much better. from the menu, the weapon selection, they're more user friendly. wit MW2 still dominating,i would rather play BFBC2 any day |

I'm starting to feel this way also. Originally Modern Warfare 2 was great. The online was some of the best I've ever played and I was having a great time. Then came the people that found out glitches and what not and now it seems that every other game you find a glitcher or booster and to be honest it's really beginning to piss me off. I hate that people can't play the game right. Yea I don't like campers but I have far more respect for them then I do for care package glitchers and boosters.
Like you I also downloaded the BFBC2 demo and I'm really liking it. The game is much more team oriented. I don't like some things however like the limited amount of recoil and stuff like that but I can look past that. I might pick this game up on launch day. By the way if you meant in your thread title it can crush it sales wise there's not a chance in hell that will happen.

The games overall quality and polish could (and most likely will) be vastly superior to MW2. Games that have extensive beta and demos are almost always better than games that don't.
But really though, I think MW2 is not only one of the most over hyped games of all time, but one of the worst shooters I've ever played. Games that promote camping are bad. Games that award dying are bad. Games that give more kills to people that are doing good, are bad. Games that have killstreak rewards are bad. Killstreaks are a gimmick to lure in the casual gamers with purdy rewards. Killstreaks should equate to bonus points, and that is it. Deahstreaks? Don't get me started. Killstreaks further promote camping which in turn ruins the pace and flow of the game. The weapons in MW2 are imbalanced as hell, and the fact that you are actually rewarded for being terrible is disgusting and just messes things up for good players. BC2 will do really damn well because it doesn't have the stupid gimmicks and glitches of MW2. It own't outsell MW2 because MW2 is successful thanks to 75% hype, 25% quality. Oh and TC I have awesome stats in MW2 and only play FFA and still can't stand the game. My best win streak was 62 (all in Deathmatch).

Both games will have their pros and cons. I cannot speak for BFBC2 because I've only played the demo twice and I don't 'judge' games until I put some hours into it and it's the full release. I've decided to rent this game after the TSL has ended to get a feel for the game. I won't buy it because I want to see what the DLC for MW2 has to offer.
I will buy the game way down the road or this summer depending on how fast I max prestige MW2 or get totally tired of seeing or thinking about the game. Right now, I'm content with MW2. Yes it does have its' frustrating moments. I have no doubt that BFBC will be just as popular and fun as MW2. It has great potential and I hope it does succeed.

just as F8L Fool mentioned, the weapons in MW2 are so unbalanced. if you're equiped with the akimbo model 1887 shotgun, you're pretty much unstoppable. actually it feels that the whole game is unbalanced.
i'd also have to agree that killstreaks does promotes camping. but there are people who are skilled & doesn't need to camp. it's just sad that people abuse what MW2 offers. |

what i meant about the "crush" part is the whole game turnout. i mean MW2 is a great game until the abuse & a lot was so disappointed about it we have to stop playing. the single player was also a disappontment & i personally think that once BFBC2 comes out, people would not expect how it's better than MW2 in so many aspects.

i'm not saying MW2 online play is bad. it's still worth checkin out for all it's accomplishments over the past installment. it's just that i really didnt expect that they'd screw real bad on the balance & fairness of online play. a lot of people realise these & they abused them. COD is huge on competition & it does get tight. people always gonna wanna have an edge over some & that's how it's always gonna be for COD games.
