if a jet goes infront of you use your cannon to take it out, and for the other jets just aim at them with the missiles once you get a lock they will drop 3 sets of flares.. wait a couple seconds till you get passed them then shoot, takes them down every time
only took 2 and a half tries.

I never knew about the 30mm Gun until after I got the trophy FFFFFFFFFFF

I never knew about the 30mm gun or that you could restart from the first checkpoint

I tried it a few times on my own and failed. Then I just watched Wozamil's video and did exactly what he did when he said to do it and got the trophy on the first try. I don't remember where it was though. I think maybe it was in a trophy guide that didn't get selected or something. So probably not that helpful unless you go search his YT channel.

Does it tell you when you've been hit always or not necessarily?? I've done this twice perfectly and it hasn't unlocked. Could it possibly be that I've been hit and not realized it?? Stupid question. Does the new patch eliminate getting it with the 30 mm gun. Can't see how they care about fixing something like that on single player.

You have to hit all 7 without missing and without getting shot.

You'll destroy 5 but then you will hit a checkpoint where you have to destroy 2 more. After these are done you will get to the next sequence and the trophy will pop.

The jet shakes and you see an explosion, that's how you tell you've been hit. The patch hasn't effected the 30mm gun.
