How hard is new game plus

I have completed arkham city on normal and found it really good, there were parts that were challenging but not many moments where I really couldn't do it. I am wanting to try new game plus, on a scale of 1-10 how hard is this game mode. Is there any advice you can give me?

New Game Plus is not much harder than normal, combat is almost the same, as long you get used with no counter symbols, in predator mode you must not be seen because you will die very fast, but with all the gadges, it will be quite easy. Bosses are the only ones that the difficult change makes a real difference they will take a lot more tries than in normal, but after some time, you will get the hang of it.

Ok thanks, if I play this mode can I start the side missions again or do they carry over? I just have odd things to finish and have no idea where to find the last civilian being assaulted so thought by doing this it might be quicker to start again.

you have to do all side missions again.

And by the way, the only hard part for me in New Game plus was the Freeze fight, only because you have to use almost every gadget / takedown to beat him.

Freeze wasn't that bad, I actually preferred new game + fight with him. I somehow managed to die multiple times on

Ok well I think I will give this a go. Once I start is there anyway I can go back and carry on finding the riddles side missions etc on my normal game mode or once I start new game plus does this overwrite everything else I have done previously? I hope that makes sense

NG+ doesn't lose your progress in "normal" game. It has its own spot in main menu and you can continue your regular game at any point if you feel like it.

It's worth a mention that you don't need to collect riddler trophies in ng+, if you have already collected them in your main game. You can go straight to the hostages. All the other side missions, like political prisoners, start from a scratch. You need to have 100% on all side missions in regular game and in ng+ for platinum.

If you haven't already, get used to using X+X to evade during fights. I'm not great at countering without the prompt, but evade gets you out of everything without breaking the combo.

Freeze was a little challanging for me, but the rest wasn't too bad.

I'm on NG+, and for me it's really difficult, I'm not so good to make a lot of combo.
