People make 40x harder then it needs to be. I did the same.
This video is for arkham city, not arkham asylum, but it works just the same and how I got mine when I was having trouble with getting a decent combo up. You can combine this method to work on your x9 as well. start with a stun (circle) maybe a punch or 2 until you can counter then (x)(x) to jump over someone throw a punch (x)(x) to jump and punch until you can do a takedown/throw, eventually add your batarang in there, claw someone jump him then ground pound him to finish him. You'll probably end up with a x25 or higher when it's all said and done, just don't start combining too many strikes and end up getting batman doing a slow moving kick where someone can hit you from behind. |

I owe my platinum to this post here! Thinking of it as a really slow fighting game is what got me that platinum after about 2 years of trying, giving up, then going back months later and trying again. And ground takedowns, thank god for takedowns! A 35 hit combo into a batclaw and then 3 ground takedowns does some major damage!

If stun is your problem then yes, you can start with that. That are just make sure no one else is around other then the person you're trying to stun. It is a bit of a slow move. Same with Ground pound. If you attempt this with someone else near, you'll probably get punched.

it took me quite some time to reach a combo of 40.. but I did it in the first challenge on round 3 or 4 I believe. just keep trying and go for the goons far away from each other, so you want get caught up between a couple of them.
for the freeflow, it comes with practice. however I like to jump away from the goons, throw batarangs at them and the use the grapple (or whatever it's called) - that's a good way to get those two. the rest I pretty much use in every fight anyway. good luck

I got mine during hard playthrough while fighting the two titans with a bunch of dudes. Had a combo going, jumped on one titan, mauled dudes, jumped on the other, mauled some more and it popped. Quick baterang a must for this to work, but so much fun.
