How do I apply Heraldry to my shield?

Take control of the character with the shield you want to paint. From the radial menu, go to potions and you can use it from there.

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately I'm not playing Dragon Age: Origins anymore I'm hoping it will be possible to herald a shield in Dragon Age II
