I'm just starting into this game and I kind of like the layout for it, but I went in knowing what I was getting into and having not played any of the previous games, so I didn't have any expectations based on them. Just finished assignment one and I believe I'm at 22% trust and friendship around 30 for all the available characters except for Hagel, but wasn't able to even find the time to explore the second area in my mad runs to find all the mushrooms I needed.
Not sure if I'll be able to hit level 50 for adventuring or alchemy at this point, but level 10/9 in them so far. I've gotten a better feel for the requirements for time management in this game now, though. At first I was hesitant to spend more than a day on anything, so I was wasting some time whenever I crafted instead of making more of them and allowing it to round out to an even day because I didn't want to miss anything. Ah well, worse comes to worse I'll have to do some quick playthroughs for a couple of the endings. |

Time management isnt that hard in this game.. I think its harder/worse with the design and balance of battle and equipments..
I´m almost done with the 4th assignment and is still using the standard weapons/equipments.. cant make new since I dont have the item needed and there is no hint on when/where to begin upgrade. Also I feel like going throu battle is a walk in the park until you get to the 3rd area into the mining place.. then there is suddenly enemygroups with 3-4 enemies and they have 100+ HP each.. I´ll get killed after 3 of those battles. very unbalanced in my opinion.

I actually just wrapped up all of the character endings and the achievement rating based endings the other night on my first complete runthrough. I went back to year 3, month 1 save prior to triggering any of the final flags for any of the characters and was well on my way to working out the adventurer ending at lvl 42 adventurer a couple months into the year... then the game froze. Rebooted, played some more and the game locked up. My original 80 gig PS3 kicked the bucket (until I feel like fixing it)
. Just picked up one of the new 160 gig models and I'm in the process of reinstalling all the game datas and updates and such to the new one, then I'll be back to working on adventurer...

This is on my backlog of games that I need to play, but with Dragon Age 2 and then Elder Scrolls V coming out it is going to be rough. Might be able to squeeze it in in between Mass Effect 2, Record of Agarest War, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadows.

This game is brilliant! XD When I first started playing, I absolutely hated how tedious it was, but after I gave it a second chance (like three months later), I couldn't stop playing.
The best thing about the game is, of course, the scenes/dialogues. x'D I could watch every one of them over and over again, which is why the replay thing for me isn't boring. I still have to Platinum the game, but I haven't played it recently (been caught up with another game). I'm aiming for that Platty, though. |
