INTRODUCTION
Asura’s Wrath, new IP from Capcom which was developed by CyberConnect2 (.hack// and Naruto Ultimate Ninja series), is like an interactive anime loaded with fast paced action scenes and epic battles, complete with eyecatches and to be continued screens after each episode.

Gameplay can be divided into 3 parts. Shooter part, where you shoot down enemies while gliding, flying or running using the aiming reticule, beat-em-up style gameplay with normal, heavy attacks, evading or countering and interactive cutscenes or Quick Time Events if you will.

WALKTHROUGH

Step 1: Play through the game once on Normal Difficulty focusing on getting S Ranks

This game is fairly simple and you don’t need to worry about dying much. The real problem is the ranking after each episode. Game ranks your progress based on your time, Battle Points and Synchronic Rate. Time is self-explanatory. Lower the better. Regular cutscene don’t add to your total so don’t worry about skipping them and enjoy the story. In fact some of the story related trophies require you to watch the cutscenes without skipping them. You get battle points with every successful attack you deal to enemies. You can check “Ka-Ching!” for more details on battle points. Synchronic Rate is how good you perform during QTEs. You can check “Be the Fist” for more information and a list of all actions.

Game keeps track of your progress and episode rank seperately on each difficulty. That’s why you won’t be able to get all the related trophies if you get S ranks only on Hard.

You can check your progress and/or replay any unlocked episode from the Episode Menu. If you couldn’t achieve an S rank, replay the mission and try to improve your score. You can get at least 1 A on any of the three parameters and still get S rank.

You will get most of the trophies on this playthrough and maybe some kill based trophies if you keep replaying the episodes. There are also no collectibles in this game unlike most games.

Step 2&3: Replay all episodes while using the Blind Master Gauge/Mortal Gauge

Unfortunately you will have to play each episode from start to finish using above mentioned gauges on seperate playthroughs. It doesn’t count if you only replay the final episode. You can change your gauge by selecting it in Extras under Gauges.

Blind Master Gauge removes every indicator from your HUD. That means no visible Health/Burst Bar and Overheat meter is also removed. Mortal Gauge decreases your defenses, making Asura more vulnerable to attacks.

I highly recommend playing on Easy for minimal frustration. Blind Master might not prove a big problem, but boss fights on your Mortal playthrough can be a bit of a pain.

You can check your progress in Extras under Gauges if you are unsure. There will be 2 locked gauges showing which episodes you have cleared using these gauges.

Step 4: Replay all episodes on Hard Difficulty focusing on getting S Ranks

When you complete all episodes using Mortal Gauge, you will unlock Obliterator Gauge which gives you unlimited Rage. This helps quite a lot enabling you to enter Unlimited Mode whenever you want. Unlimited Mode makes Asura stronger and faster, he takes less damage from attacks and he doesn’t overheat after using Heavy or Special attacks. Also activation animation gives Asura temporal invincibility so you can use it to your advantage.

Step 5: Clean up (optional)

If you have any missed trophies at this point, you can use Episode Select and replay them.

Deity
Complete all episodes with an S rank on Hard.

There are 18 + 1 hidden episode in the game and you earn ranks at the end of each episode. Ranks are determined by time, battle points and Synchronic Rate. You need to get at least 2 S and 1 A rank to earn an overall S rank for the episode.

Try to finish the episodes as quickly as possible without dying in the process. You don’t need to skip cutscenes because they don’t affect your final time. Make good use of evading and recoveries. By recovering you will get a small part of your health back. If you die and select to continue from last checkpoint, it will cost you 1000 battle points per use and you will lose precious time as it does not reset to the value at the beginning of that checkpoint.

For battle points please check “Ka-Ching!” for more details.
For Synchronic Rate please check “Be the Fist” for more details.

You will need to play and earn S rank in each episode on Normal and Hard separately. While the difficulty trophies stack, S rank trophies don’t. Also you can equip “Obliterator Gauge” on your Hard playthrough, which gives you unlimited rage, making things a lot easier. Please check “The Whole Nine” for more details.

Mortal
Achieve a D rank or higher on any episode.

This trophy is one of the easiest trophies in the game. You can earn this in Episode 1. Just keep spamming rapid-fire and lock-on shots. Try not to mess up QTEs. Even if you do horribly, it’s still possible to earn at least B rank.

Anger Management
Activate Burst for the first time in Episode 1.

This trophy is impossible to miss as you need to activate your Burst to complete any segment in episodes and advance the story. You activate “Burst” using after you completely fill your Burst Bar. See “A Roar of Fury” for details.

The Six-Armed Man
Grow a few extra limbs in Episode 5.

This trophy is story-related but it is missable.

Spoiler! (click here to reveal)

Do NOT skip the cutscene when Asura turns into his six-armed state or you will have to play the episode again. You have to watch the whole cutscene to earn this trophy. - thanks leptonic

Heads Will Roll

It Takes Two
Defeat Deus with Yasha in Episode 17.

This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed.

Trophy will unlock after you beat Deus.

Do NOT skip any cutscenes during the event until you unlock the trophy or you might need to play the episode again.

A Cry of Anger
Activate Burst 50 times.

See “A Roar of Fury” for more details.

A Roar of Fury
Activate Burst 100 times.

You fill your Burst Bar as you play through episodes. Every attack/counterattack will contribute to your Burst Bar. Once it’s completely filled you have to press to activate your Burst and -usually- complete a QTE to continue or finish the episode. Some Burst executions require Asura to run to his target before QTEs. If it doesn’t connect, you will lose some amount of Burst and have to refill it. Sometimes you will have to complete a QTE successfully to activate it. There aren’t enough Burst moments in one playthrough so you will get this trophy on your second playthrough.

Hit’Em Hard
Defeat 100 enemies with a special attack.

See “Hit’Em Harder” for more details.

Hit’Em Harder
Defeat 300 enemies with a special attack.

Special attacks are executed when you press near a downed enemy if you are not overheating. Every based attack will cause overheating, so after you use your special attack, you will have to wait for Asura to cooldown. You can also enter Unlimited Mode after filling it, which eliminates overheating. But this mode also makes Asura stronger, so try not to kill the enemies before you can use your special attacks on them.

Fortunately when you perform the attack, if there are other enemies inside the attack’s radius, they will also be damaged and even killed if they are weaker. You can rack up kills quickly this way.

A good early place to farm this trophy is Episode 2. You will not overheat during this episode, press and hold to execute Dash Attack which almost always throws weaker enemies to the ground and press near the downed enemy. If you are fast enough you can get at least 20-30 kills until the cutscene starts. Another good episode is the 4th one. There will be weak Gohma enemies after you start, soon followed by weak Doji enemies.

Can’t Touch This
Perform 50 counterattacks.

See “Can’t Touch That” for more details.

Can’t Touch That
Perform 100 counterattacks.

You can counter enemy attacks using or when prompted. Not every enemy attack can be countered. You will have to wait for regular enemies to glow in white for a few seconds before they attack. If there is no glow, then you won’t be able to counter it. When fighting the bosses or other oversized enemies, camera will zoom up to them before the counterable attack.

Time slows down when counter indicator appears, making it easier to counter. based counterattacks do not cause overheating, therefore you can use them as much as the opportunity strikes.

If you cannot counter enemy attacks, or simply don't want to be bothered with it, equip “Augur” Gauge which automatically counters any counterable attack. See “The Whole Nine” for more details.

They Don’t Stand a Chance
Defeat 50 enemies while in Unlimited Mode.

See “Unstoppable Force” for more details.

Unstoppable Force
Defeat 100 enemies while in Unlimited Mode.

Just defeat enemies while you are in Unlimited Mode. The Gauge in the middle, below Health and Burst Bars is the Unlimited Mode gauge. Every action fills this gauge little by little. When it’s full, it will start to flash and prompt will appear in the middle of the gauge. You have to manually enter Unlimited Mode on Normal and Hard but Asura will automatically enter it on Easy.

You don’t overheat in this mode and your attacks become stronger and faster. While you don’t enter overheating, every heavy or special attack will consume a little chunk of this gauge. It also decreases in time after activation.

You can equip special gauges which increase the duration of this mode, decreases the number of attacks needed to enter the mode or gives unlimited access to it. Please refer to “The Whole Nine” for more details.

Taking Out the Trash
Defeat 300 enemies with heavy attacks and/or lock-on fire.

When you press you execute a heavy attack. Heavy attack causes Asura to overheat, so try to use it when there are weak enemies or when you think you dealt enough damage to stronger enemies. Just try not to press when there are downed enemies nearby or counter prompt appears. They count towards special and counter kills respectively.

In shooter segments of game play, you can move your reticule over enemies and little triangles will appear on screen, showing the locked-on enemies. Press to execute a lock-on attack when you have enough targets. Try to maximize the target count, as it strengthens the power of the attack. After you kill enough enemies using either way, you will unlock the trophy.

Quick on the Draw
Achieve 70 EXCELLENT synchronic impact rankings.

See “Lightning Reflexes” for more details.

Lightning Reflexes
Achieve 150 EXCELLENT synchronic impact rankings.

Almost half the gameplay of this game based on QTEs. There are different kinds of QTEs in this game. Some require you to tilt the analog sticks or tapping buttons. One of them consists of a small circle and a bigger moving circle which closes in the smaller one in the middle of the screen. This one requires you to press at exact moment when the big one is on top of the smaller one. If you do it right, you will see “EXCELLENT”. If you press the button a little late or a little early, result will be "GOOD" or "GREAT" instead. There are some tricky ones but it's generally not hard to pull off.

There aren’t enough QTEs to unlock this trophy in one playthrough, so you can unlock it on your second one if you get every single one of them right.

Be the Fist
Achieve an overall synchronic rate average of 80% on any difficulty.

Synchronic rate is determined by your success at QTEs. Some of them might be tricky but it’s possible to achieve 100% in each episode. Remember that synchronic impact QTEs should be "EXCELLENT" or it lowers your overall rate. There are also some QTEs you fail no matter how fast you mash the buttons.

Here is a list of all QTEs in the game if you are having troubles:

Notes: Most of these QTEs are time based, so i will assume ALL of them are timed and won't point out which ones really are, unless people prefer it that way
“button” (tap) self-explanatory, tap until you succeed
“button” (tap)(burst) you will need to tap the button until you fill your Burst Bar
(impact) is impact QTE where you must press at exact moment, result should be EXCELLENT
“next” is either a skip-able cutscene or there is gameplay during this segment till next QTE group, just a separator used by me
BURST is well, Burst , in most cases you have to fill it by doing necessary actions, if first action of the episode is BURST, it is meant that you need to fill it first

Pain is Universal
Accumulate a total of 10000 in damage.

You will unlock this trophy after you receive at least 10000 points of damage. You don’t have to let yourself get hurt as this will come naturally through story progress before the end of your first playthrough unless you are really awesome and finish the game without a scratch.

Too Legit to Quit
Continue the game after falling in battle.

This one is one of the easiest trophies in the game. Just let yourself get killed if you don’t want to wait and select Continue. Be aware that even though you can continue from last checkpoint, time doesn’t reset and keeps adding, which in turn might lower your score and you lose 1000 battle points with each continue.

Look Ma, No Eyes!
Complete the game with the Blind Master gauge equipped.

You need to equip “Blind Master” Gauge in Extras under Gauges and complete every single episode to unlock this trophy. Blind Master Gauge disables all your bars, so you won’t be able to see your remaining health or amount of Burst you built up. I suggest you to play the game on Easy for minimal frustration.

If you are not sure whether you’ve beaten the episode using this gauge, check the locked gauge under Blind Master in Gauges to see your progress. There will be a chart showing all episodes and a green dot, under the ones you've already finished using Blind Master.

Who Needs Health?
Complete the game with the Mortal gauge equipped.

Same as above. Only this time you need to equip “Mortal” Gauge. Mortal Gauge will decrease your defense making Asura more vulnerable, so choose Easy difficulty for minimal frustration as it can prove hard even when fighting against a horde of weak enemies.

Countering and shooting works well against projectiles like missiles but not against laser type attacks. Even if you get hit by lasers during evading you won’t take any damage so time your evading right and learn attack patterns of bosses.

You can check your progress in Gauges. Look at the locked gauge under Mortal. There will be a chart showing all episodes and a green dot, under the ones you've already finished using Mortal.

CG Collector
Get all the CG art.

See “Movie Buff” for details.

Art Appreciator
Get all the illustrations.

See “Movie Buff” for details.

Movie Buff
Get all the movies and interludes.

These trophies are the only collectible trophies in the game, which surprisingly take no extra effort to earn. You unlock a new piece of CG, illustration or movie when you complete the episodes. You will unlock everything by the time you finish the story. Complete 18 episodes plus hidden episode and you will unlock the trophies.

The Whole Nine
Get all the gauges.

Like the name suggests, there are nine gauges in the game. You start with one of them already unlocked as your default. You won’t be able to get this trophy on your first playthrough. There are two gauges that require you to finish the game using another gauges. Unfortunately you can’t simply finish the final episode to unlock them so at least 3 full playthroughs is needed to unlock this trophy.

All gauges except Augur, Mortal and Obliterator can be unlocked by getting at least an A Rank in episodes on any difficulty. For Blind Master, you need to finish the game (18 episodes + hidden episode) with at least an A Rank in each episode. For Mortal you need at least 10 S-Ranked episodes on any difficulty.

The Gauges are as follows:
Avenger – as default, Asura starts with this
Defender – Decreases the damage taken
Destructor – Fills up the Unlimited Gauge faster
Thermoregulator – Recover from overheating faster
Survivor – Length of time in Unlimited Mode is extended
Blind Master – None of the gauges are displayed throughout the game
Augur – All counterable attacks are automatically countered – Unlocked after finishing the game using Blind Master Gauge
Mortal – Reduces the length of Life Gauge
Obliterator – Maintains the Unlimited Gauge at maximum at all times –Unlocked after finishing the game using Mortal Gauge

Ka-Ching!
Accumulate a total of 120000 Battle points.

You earn battle points with each attack or by fulfilling some other special conditions. You will most likely get this trophy at the end of your playthrough. If you can’t get it, replay some of the episodes to improve your score. If you get mostly S rank on battle points, you should have no problems.

Here is a quick list of actions and their worth in points:

Spoiler! (click here to reveal)

Notes: You cannot exceed 999 for attack count.

Each multi-kill action like counter or special attack calculates the kills based on the action. If you kill more than one enemy during a special attack which has area effect, all killed enemies count as special attack kills. Wait for enemies to get closer to you while you wait next to a downed enemy and use special attack to rack up points. If you are overheating wait for enemy attack and counter the attack. It usually damages/kills the nearby enemies as well.

You can still continue to fight and kill enemies after you fill your Burst Bar. Make use of this when there are weaker enemies around you and multi-kill them using a special attack before you hit Burst. Don’t wait too long though, as time is another factor for Episode Ranks.

There are also Recovery points and Unlimited Mode points which have no base calculations. You won’t get extra points for evading enemy attacks or finishing episodes without a scratch. So it’s a good idea to get hit and use recovery to increase your score.

View of the Valley
Continue to stare at the hot spring attendant's assets.

This trophy is earned during the anime-must-have-hot-springs-episode, which is #10. When you get control of Asura, you will have various actions like drink, chug or look around. What you have to do is look at the bouncy “assets” of the lady, you’ll know if you are doing it right as the game will zoom up for a better view until she covers them up.

If you could not unlock the trophy –or simply to enjoy the view once more- look at them again after a few seconds.

Don’t activate your Burst, if you fill it up before obtaining this trophy.

Like a Fish
Consume more alcohol than you should.

This trophy is also obtained in Episode 10. When you get control of Asura, choose to “Chug” a few times to unlock the trophy.

Don’t activate your Burst, if you fill it up before obtaining this trophy.

Sometime I Feel Like...
Find all the peeping Doji at the hot spring.

This is the last trophy obtainable from the hot-springs-special episode or Episode 10 if you’d like.

When you get control of Asura look at the left side of screen until the big guy leaves (make sure you watch until the end for the lols), then take a look at right side, look up towards the cliff, execute any action –drink, chug, look at assets, splash, stand up-, look up again, execute one more action, and look up for the last time and you will unlock the trophy.

Don’t activate your Burst, if you fill it up before obtaining this trophy.

Shut Up, Wyzen!
Interrupt Wyzen’s monologue.

During Episode 4, Wyzen will start to give a little speech. Press when prompt appears on top-left corner to shut him up.

Shut Up, Kalrow!
Interrupt Kalrow's monologue.

Same as above. You need to press to shut him up when he starts his speech at the end of Episode 9 after Asura reaches to the top of the airship.

Shut Up, Augus!
Interrupt Augus’ monologue.

Once again press to shut Augus up and unlock the trophy. He will start giving his speech at the beginning of Episode 11.

TIPS

Mortal Gauge Playthrough

Mortal Gauge playthrough can really be a little annoying, especially during boss fights, where even on easy, bosses can kill you with two strikes. They usually start their attack as soon as you get close to them (about an attack's reach) and do a little teleport move just before they do. Immediately evade (more than once if necessary) and start to punish them.

Use your Unlimited Mode whenever you are able to, if you play on easy like i recommended, Asura will automatically enter it. This will make Asura stronger, faster, immune to overheat and most importantly almost invincible. He will also recover from any attack automatically without the need of button.

As awesome as it is, Unlimited Mode Gauge depletes in time and whenever you use heavy or special attacks. If you see your gauge depleting, get away from bosses/enemies, evade when you need to and use your rapid-shot (hold ). This will fill the gauge at much faster rate, especially if Asura is in his six-armed state. Rinse and repeat until you defeat your enemies.

Getting S Ranks on any Difficulty

S ranks are easily achievable in most of the episodes. If you already finished your Mortal Gauge playthrough, equip Obliterator Gauge which grants unlimited Unlimited Mode (double infinity, yay!). Since there is no requirement for S Ranking on Easy, you will use this on Normal and Hard, which means you will have to activate your Unlimited Mode each and every time after depletion.

I guess you know what Unlimited Mode does by now. What you have to do is to abuse it, thanks to its overheat immunity, use dash attack + special attack whenever you can, when there are enemies around you. There is a problem with this plan though. You will destroy your enemies rather quickly, which is good for Time Score, but not for Battle Points and you will likely get a D. To prevent this, keep attacking enemies, using special/counter attacks even after you reach Burst. In most episodes, there are unlimited amount of enemies to be found and they keep spawning until you activate your Burst. Prolong this for at least a minute or so and you most likely will get an S rank for Battle Points and an A rank for Time. Aside from Special kills, which grant you most scores per kill (50), you will also get a high Unlimited Score because of your constant Unlimited Mode activation. For example, in one episode i managed to get 14300 (286 x 50) points for Special Attack plus 1108 points for Unlimited Score alone.

Trophy guide/roadmap complete. This is my first guide/roadmap so please excuse the quality and/or grammatical errors. Guide will be updated for tips and tactics against bosses later if necessary.

Hard is not really that difficult. You just get more damage from enemy attacks. Getting S ranks and playing the game using Mortal Gauge are the most difficult trophies in the game in my opinion.
