I have done countless successful missions in each area, and still have less than 50% control, no area that assassins totally control, and some areas that, even though I have done missions that are supposed to give 20 - 25% assassin control, the templars still have 100% control.
I have even done missions that say, as the reward, "The assassins will take control of this city". Yet, even after they succeed, I only have 34% control. How am I supposed to get the Armchair General if my assassins can never take control of cities? Edit: Scratch what I said above. It seems that, even though I only control a portion of the cities, it still gave me the trophy. The description made it sound like you needed 100% in all cities, but apparently that is not the case.

The cap is 50% until you install Assassin dens and assign Assassins to those cities. It's not really worth it though, because I've noticed that your control percentage still drops really fast.

can you even get higher than 50%?
i swear, at one point, i had all cities at 50%. and i had installed new dens in all cities. to the point where that option no longer showed up in any of the cities. i was fooling around a bit, and i kept constantly sending assassins on at least one mission in all cities, even when i had 50% on all cities. and i did not see any of the cities go higher than 50%. is > 50% possible? is 100% even possible? i just wanted to see if i could gain 100% control and "lock" in a city, like you can "lock" an assassin den, so they dont get attacked anymore. but after trying multiple times, and not seeing any increase over 50% i pretty much game up. anyways, just curious if anyone has ever got higher than 50% or even got up to 100% in any of the cities. you need to send an assassin to the den of that area. When an assassin is in the den the cap rises which the max rises it to 100%. You lose the assassin and only way to get them back is by trading another assassin but you are now able to recruit another assassin.
I tried to 100% all at the same time but lost patience. You will need a lot more than 30 assassins. 5 in each area and 12 (what was it again) on your party and that is a lot of assassins. |

All you have to do to get this trophy and just send out your full complement of Assassin's on missions over and over again, complete Restore City missions and you'll get the trophy.
Mine popped without me even concentrating on that aspect, but keeping all Assassin's on missions constantly is the key. You almost have to commit to stopping play and making sure that once an Assassin mission is done, that you'll stop at a Den and send the Assassins out right away again. When you start seeing the "Defend City" as the only mission listing under a city, you are getting real close to Armchair General. I really didn't focus on this trophy, but got it just by persistently sending Assassins out and since you need 7 Master Assassins anyway, Armchair General should pop in the normal progression. |

I assigned a new Assassin to Bursa which raised the control cap to 63% just to try it out, but it hasn't really done much. It rarely stays above 50% as it is. |
