I like the campaign and the mp from AC:R more then in AC:B ...
But it seems that that's just me, lol the hookblade is really a plus and it are just a lot of small improvements that make it more fun to play, on- and offline

I'll make it simple: Costantinople just plain sucks. It's always the same, the buildings are often harder to climb. The story has just been made up. It could be Bejin or any other city and it didn't change much. Sure, technically Revelations is great. Apart some tearing it's beautiful. And I've found it a bit repetitive.
Playing (a little) as Altair made sense. But it would have been nice to have the Ezio epilogue in-game, and not as a (playable) downloadable short animation. Same for Desmond. Actually even worse. This was supposed to be the end of the trilogy (well, +1), and Revelations had to mean that we could finally see how the was between the Templars and Assassins ended. To leave it open just to make space for yet another sequel sucks. There was already plenty of space for a spin-off (number 16 is open to everything), using maybe other artifacts. In other words AC has been one of the best videogame series with the worst endings (all of them) ever. |

ACB was a lot better in my opinion. They managed to make the game fairly long, although the whole game centered in Rome. ACB greatly improved on the combat system from ACII, and continued the story right where ACII left off. In comparison, ACR is very short, the main city is a lot smaller; so small in fact as to not include horses in this installation. The bombs, bomb creation, and hookblade feel like Ubisoft added them out of a misinterpreted need to add new things.

I really liked Ezio's character progression - it wrapped him up nicely, especially with the Embers DVD which came with my set. One of the best characters this gen, so this game gets an extra point just for that. Additionally, after playing as Altaïr again I no longer think of him as a total tool (although the voice actor making an effor this time probably helped too).
Gamewise - it did seem more limited in scope than Brotherhood. The tower defence didn't really work for me so I locked it down as soon as I could, but the bomb crafting was a nice touch that surprised me how much I used it. The side quests did seem a bit vague compared to previous games. Just adding honourable deaths to the MP is enough of an improvement to warrant a tick there. Did anyone else feel that Revelations was glitchier than the other games? |

Absolutely, especially the multiplayer. I don't know what's causing it, though. I believe the most recent patch fixed so many multiplayer bugs and glitches already, one does have to wonder how they ever made it into the game. Were the developers not truly ready yet... but did they have to release anyway because Ubisoft had already announced the date?

I do find that the multiplayer in Revelations has many glitches, I do find it to be superior than that of Brotherhood.
I believe that Revelations brought in crafting because of the Facebook game Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy. in AC: PL, you had to craft weapons, items and gifts to progress further into the game. It was a pretty good time sink during slow work hours, and I am glad they implemented some sort of crafting gameplay mechanic into this game. I enjoy crafting bombs in the game and I wanted to try out different ones just to see what the effects were. My favourite types of bombs to use were Datura, caltrops, smoke and cherry bombs. I also kind of enjoyed the Den defence game because I like tower defence games, but it wasn't very well implemented. I am sure they will take the comments from the community to tweak or remove it from the next game. |

For me AC:B wins the comparison with AC:R clearly.
Ok, those bombs in AC:R are a nice idea and quite funny. Additionally make many fights and 100% synchro very easy. But the rest: Rome was more beatiful than constantinopel, I liked the open terrain outside of Rome and was missing something comparable in Constantinopel. Story in AC:R: Only several fragments; some Altair here, some books there, ah and then this suleyman. Sorry, no real storyline for me and I was missing interesting characters (Da Vinci, where are you?!). And everything really short. Seems to me that there were much more things to do beside main story in AC:B than in AC:R (this two guild missions are a joke, arenīt they?). The Desmond parts. Ok, nice idea with this Tetris-mode, but where are the answers to the questions after the ending of AC:B? Donīt get me wrong, if you look only on AC:R itīs still a good game but when I compare it to AC:B there could only be one winner. Last edited by HerrLehmann; 12-19-2011 at 06:24 PM. |

While I feel AC:B is the more polished game, I enjoyed the story a lot more in AC:R. I just felt that Brotherhood's story wasn't very different from AC II. I thought there was more done with the development of Ezio's character in this one.
