Any way to trigger Tax Collector?

Just wanted to thank you, kind sir, and bump this exact method for people still freaking out because of never spawning the tax collector.

What i exactly did:
1. Go to the 'courtyard' in front of the Arsenal's east entrance (there's a doctor, a bank and a blacksmith nearby, as well as a big tree among burnt wooden planks).
2. Approach the Arsenal's entrance, but do not enter it; wait somewhere between the gate and the big tree, facing the gate.
3. Wait for a bank deposit.
4. As soon as the first message popped (about the ingredients), i started slowly moving forward, to the Arsenal.
5. The tax collector spawned with no problems.

I did it during the bank deposit that occurs in the morning, game-wise; i don't know if it matters or not, but it might, since i wasn't able to get a collector spawned earlier, during daytime and evening deposits (though i might have done other things 'wrong').

In the entire time I played through all the way up to getting the platinum I only saw him 3 times. Luckily, after a long chase, I managed to get the trophy decond time I saw him.

I was starting to think I was the only one. I've tried everything that has been posted, and I do get a 100% spawn... of the stalker. I have the special edition of the game that came with the original Assassin's Creed. Maybe they forgot to put tax collectors in this game, because I have never seen one, and the stalker always shows up when everyone is saying the tax collector will. I have no idea what to do at this point. Pretty frustrating.

I also have the Ottoman Edition of the game and this method worked perfectly for me. The other slightly tweaked version where you go into the Arsenal area and stand by the cranes didn't work. I stood on a manhole cover just outside the gate and then fast walked into the Arsenal when the deposit had been made. Then the tax collector turned up. Only time in over 18 hours of gameplay. Stupid trophy.

I think I have seen him 2-3 times. I saw him 1-2 time randomly when I was playing singleplayer. Now when I was going for platinum I saw him one more time when I killing guards and stuff for the thief looting trophy.

Seen 2 so far, first one i tackled and beat up then robbed, didnt pop.
2nd one i killed and robbed still didnt pop.
Am i doing something wrong here?

They do seem rarer than rocking horse shit though.

I repeated that Arsenal's Entrance method few times, and no sign of collector. I saw only collector in 25h playtime someplace around Hagia Sofia, and ran about five minutes to tackle him. It's not so hard if you see the collector, but if you don't, your platinum trophy is going to be pain in the ass. Luckily I got it pretty easy. Only tip I can give: Run. It is not sure that Arsenal method will work. If you see that Arsenal method doesn't work, don't waste your time waiting and repeating it all day. If you see collector icon on map, ALWAYS focus on collector first. As you can read earlier in this post, I saw only one collector on my playthrough and clean-up time, and there's not a 100% sure way to trigger collectors. This trophy can be really frustrating or it will be easy and you can get it when you are doing clean up.

Right have tried this Arsenal method 3 days running now spent a good few hours on this and he hasnt spawned once.

Had loads of stalkers but not a single tax collector, anyone else got a clue on where to find this git.

Got the elusive git last night.

Used a different method though which i found elsewhere and it worked first time for me.

So for anyone having difficulties with the Arsenal method try this one.

1. Go to the bank (its the one down a narrow alley) at the rear (south east) of the Sofia Hagia and withdrawn your cash.

2. There is a flight of stairs leading up from the bank towards the Sofia Hagia, go up these stairs and you will see a hay cart.

3. Hide in the hay cart and wait for your money to deposit in the bank again.

4. When you get the deposit run down and collect your cash then head back up to the hay cart but turn right towards the restricted area.

5. The tax collector will spawn among the crowd of people to your left that you have just passed through.
