Default When would you like Assassin's Creed 3 to be set?

Thoughts??

Personally I think the American Civil War (1861-65) would be a good setting.

OMG Absolutely not. I think the period 1500-1600 in UK/France would be a nice twist. Medieval knight whacking

As mentioned in another thread, the American civil war would pretty much undermine the core gameplay mechanics of Assassin's Creed. I really don't want to run around barren landscapes shooting my gun at enemies. An Assassin's Creed game needs cities and swordfighting.

The French Revolution does make the most sense right now. Of course there were guns there, too, but it would still make sense to use swords. And the Catholic church losing a lot of its power would fit in nicely with the Assassin's Creed storyline. Paris, Nice, Versailles and Toulouse would make interesting major cities to freerun through, too.

I don't think any past settings will be used now, and I think it will be set in the future time of both games, especially since you got trained up and can use Etzio's skills now as as well as the Knights will be after you. Jumping from buildings to sky scrapers would be fun. Think of Crackdown without all the super jumping and things.

How's this: 1890's London w/ Jack the Ripper being the main antagonist. There's already stories of Jack being a Mason, might as well make him a Templar too.

Hey, you're going back in time!
Never really thought of that, but I guess it is possible. Interesting.

Personally, though, I would favor going forward in time from the period portrayed in Assassin's Creed II.

Extremely fascinating setting, but I don't think there was a lot of swordfighting in Jack's days. The time period seems too recent to me to fit in the gameplay mechanics of Assassin's Creed.

England could be nice. Maybe even with some ship sailing and battles on the seas and stuff. But then again, the french revolution sounds nice to.

I'd say stick with the Medievial (sp?) times and somewhere where there's castles so anywhere around Europe. I've enjoyed the Italian Renassaince alot but definitely could change things up a bit but keep it to where there's armor, swords, nobles, etc.
