Ok. In light of the 'Il Principe' trophy, I thought I'd share a method whereby Full Synchronization in every memory is easier to achieve.
You reach a checkpoint in a memory and have not yet failed Full Synchronization. You want to save what you've done so far, without having to restart the memory if you fail Full Synchronization. Your wish is granted! If you quit the game after a checkpoint during a memory, back up your save file onto a USB and then continue the game you will see that you resume from the last checkpoint; you do not have to start the said memory from the beginning. If you fail Full Synchronization; quit the game, copy your save data back from the USB and you'll continue again from the checkpoint. Full Synchronization is yours. This method makes achieving 100% Synchronization that much quicker and easier. Quicker because you do not have to restart a memory if you fail Full Synchronization. Easier because you do not have to repeat everything you've done up to the last checkpoint. Hope this helps

So, how exactly does this help with full sync? Does it reset the memory allowing you to finish just the last section under the contraints for 100%? Example, reset the timer for the missions that are timed or reset your detected status?

No. This method allows you to continue from your last checkpoint before any cock-ups, provided you backed it up. When you fail Full Synchronization, you are forced to restart the memory from the beginning. But, if you copy back your backed up save file you continue from the last checkpoint, before you failed Full Synchronization. In terms of the memories that require you to finish within a time limit for Full Synchronization, the time left reflects with the lastcheckpoint. So if you had had 4 mins left after your last checkpoint, you will have 4 mins left when/if you backed up and copied back your save. |

Didn't you just post this in this thread too? Ironic that you were to one to post: "This is the first of many 'Il Principe' threads"...

Believe me, it's actually quicker and less frustrating than having to restart a whole memory because of 'Full Synchronization failed' near the end. This method can be used as little or as much as one likes. I personally used it only once, during the War Machines > Tank memory. I replayed the memory so many times only to fuck up at the end and take damage from those two tanks. I finally decided to back up after the very last checkpoint and achieved 100% Synch soon after- when i failed Full Synchronization all I had to do was copy back my save file and continue from that last checkpoint. This takes less than 5 mins in comparison to 15+ mins if you restart the memory.

This works great for some missions but not so well for others.
For example in the tank mission you must get hit to get 100% sync. Basically in this mission you will have time before the enemy cannon ball hits you to press pause, turn off the system, then reload your game. It will load you into the same mission but at your last check point. So on a mission like this it can be done easily without even the need to backup your file. Just be sure you pause and reset before you "fail" the 100% requirement otherwise your save file will load you with the "fail". Now for all other missions you could possibly back up your save file at specific checkpoints, but I agree it's more time spent loading than playing and it won't be as much fun. There are only a handful of missions that really required some patience and luck to 100% sync; the majority are fairly straightforward. As a note, I hate the idea of 100% sync because I like to have the option to be creative and find my own way to complete the mission. Isn't that what these open world games are meant to be? |
