Are the servers offline?

The initial loading screen for multiplayer is going on for almost 20 minutes... When I choose the multiplayer option in the main menu, I see the Absergo logo and then it says it is "loading". After a few seconds, it all disappears and I get stuck with only the animated wallpaper and nothing happens...

EDIT: It has been 40 minutes already... What is going on??? o.o

I have same problem

looks like they are doing something on the servers..

It's messing with my trophy boosting!

But hopefully there fixing something as I can't even get into games most of the time

There have been difficulties and according to Gabriel Graziani (@UbiGabe on Twitter) the devs are looking into it.

It´s back online now. They could at least put a notice saying it was offline instead of just leaving us to our own conclusions...

Apparently, now it's the entirety of PSN that's offline. Nothing is working and Sony isn't really keeping us updated other than a blog post and a notification on Twitter. It's been this way for hours and, of course, speculations are running rampant about another hacker attack.
