It's kind of hard thinking of games that are similar because there really isn't that many but I suppose it may also depend on what you mean by similar. |

Well for sure anything NIS America has released so far which includes Atelier Arland saga, Hyperdimension Neptunia 1 and 2, Last Rebellion, Trinity Universe, Cross Edge, Disgaea, and Bleach(even though that's more of a hack and slash game with RPG elements), plus some upcoming games like Legasista(PSN), The Witch and the Hundred Knights, and Mugen Souls.
Outside of them you have all 3 Record of Agarest War games(excluding the PSP game), Tales of Graces F, Eternal Sonata, Valkyria Chronicles, Tears to Tiara(import only), Rune Factory, Tales of Vesperia(import only), and others as well. |

The story behind the games is mostly a joke(not in a bad way but in a funny way) since it's a parody of the generations of the videogaming industry and companies who made them with all of the Goddesses representing some console or handheld gaming system. It's also a crossover from a few niche publishers/developers like Gust, Idea Factory/Compile Heart, Red Entertainment, 5pb., NIS and Sega. So basically don't expect some epic storytelling or anything like that since the game itself is not taking itself seriously just like the other crossover JRPGs from Idea Factory/Compile Heart such as Cross Edge and Trinity Universe which are more about the humor than storytelling. If I had to choose, the 2nd Neptunia game is better with the 1st game giving you basically a good understanding of the series and what's going on. Plus now there's a 3rd game coming out in Japan, which will mean it will likely come to America sometime early next year which seems like it may improve even more than the 2nd game did from the 1st. |
