Both are necessary since your game could be Japenese or English.

To take S161 as an example

S-161 カツオ Bonito (冒険の門)パターンG時、ジンベエザメのお供として北部外洋に出現。 (Gate of the adventure) G pattern, as the train emerged into the open ocean north of JINBEEZAME. 距離の問題でターゲッティングできず、当海域では登録不可能? Not targeting the problem of distance, the area is not registered?

Are you saying you have trouble identifying english in that example because this whole guide is in English. I know because I used it.

it's always organized: fish size/number - map area - description (both english/japanese)

The last fish I need is S-173, some kind of tiny needlefish.

The location is described as: "North of Sonobuoy 29, near the surface".

I've been looking around and have gone through all 8 different sea patterns but still can't find it. Can someone take a photo of it or at least point me in the right direction?

go to sono 29 and look north of it. it prolly is either near the ocean surface or the ground. the patterns don't matter here.

You pretty much just repeated what was already stated :/

Anyway it was located quite a distance to the North-East of the sonobuoy

I guess people can either use this guide or your awesome guide that relies asking you a question about it and hoping you remember the answer
