I hope that February was a month full of love for all the members of PS3T.org, if you didn't have someone special then we can make up for that right now! We have our Member of the Month, he is mostly found in the Sports Bar and a great partner for the UFC Prediction League who works tirelessly and is highly appreciated on our site. Without further ado, I give you: JMeeks1875!

Can you tell us a bit more about the person behind the PSN ID?

My name is s-s-s-s Slim Sha...sorry, I'm John, I hail from Edinburgh, Scotland in the UK. I'm 35, Married with 4 kids, I have a Border Collie dog (Archie), A twisted evil cat (Marley) & A bipolar African Grey parrott (Kenco). I'm a PC Technician working all over the UK doing everything from repair to networking. My passions outwith gaming are varied. I follow my local football team Hibernian all over Scotland and also travel down to London a few times a year to see my English side Chelsea play. I love Mixed martial arts, Movies, The Beatles, Beer, Tinkering with computer art, Betting is a guilty pleasure, Socialising with friends & most importantly, Spending quality time with the wife & kids.

What sort of setup do you have going back home for your gaming?

I was playing on my 50" HDTV which was connected through my 5.1 setup in the living area but between the wife whining to watch the horrible soaps/shows we get in the UK & the kids wanting to see Nickelodeon, My game time was limited. So I've recently moved my PS3 over beside my PC gaming desk which let's me game whenever I free up some JMeeks time. :) My PS3 is a Slim with an ugraded 1TB hard drive, So not only is my backlog physical copies, But I now have a digital backlog too.

How long have you been gaming and what made you decide PlayStation as your gaming companion?

I've been gaming for roughly three decades , I started on the Atari 2600 rocking some Pac-Man & Pitfall! I was actually born

the same year that the Atari 2600 was released, Would have been early 1980's when I first tried it, The rest as they say is history. I've had pretty much every major console and computer since then and still own most of them. I opted for the PS3 after playing Fifa World Cup South Africa 2010 at a friends, I just had to have one but at the time couldn't afford it. A couple of weeks later my wife came home late from work with a Ps3 for me as a gift.

Since you've been gaming from the Atari 2600, what consoles have you had over the years?

Although that makes me sounds ancient I'm fine with it as I know we have a fair few members older than me, *You know who you are! As you said I started with a Atari 2600. *From there a taste for gaming was born, *I've had Spectrum's, Amstrad's, Commodore 64's & Amiga's, Multiple PC's, Sega Master Systems, Mega Drives, Mega CD's, Gamegears, Saturns, Dreamcasts, The NES, The Super NES, The N64 with Doctor64 Drive, Gamecubes, The Atari ST, Jaguar, Lynx 1 & 2, The PC Engine, Neo Geo, 3D0, Playstation, Phillips CDI, PS2's, Xbox, Xbox360, Wii, PS3 & last but not least my Vita. *There's every chance I've forgotten a few as I struggle to remember what I had last night for dinner let alone gaming from decades ago. :)

What's your favourite retro console and why?

That's a tough one , I think the one that consumed the biggest chunk of my time whilst being a lot of fun would be the Sega Dreamcast. *Although not the choice many would assume including myself until I gave it some thought. *Shenmue & Virtua Striker 2 were just fantastic games that I still love to this day. *The Atari Lynx was also just brilliant, A handheld that delivered excellent visuals along with the California Games, *I spent so many hours perfecting my half pipe & Footbag skills.

What was the last game you bought, and what's the next one you’re looking forward to?

The last game I bought was a collectors edition of Aliens: Colonial Marines, Being a fan of the franchise I just had to have that Powerloader figurine. What I'm most looking forward to is very difficult to narrow down, Each year we seem to get so many awesome titles thrown at us. Like everyone else I'm loving the buzz about the PS4 and it's next gen games but sticking with the Ps3, it has be either Grand Theft Auto V or Last of us.

Since you mentioned Alien: Colonial Marines, who would win: Alien, Predator or Marines?

I can't decide, Every time I pick a species, I find a flaw and change it. I'm a huge fan of all the franchises that involve the three. If forced I'd go with the Predator with their superior strength, Technology and savage dreadlocks.

I'd be happier with a big draw, It goes down like this: The Predator leaps down from a rooftop whilst saying "anytime" in that weird voice, Dreadlocks swinging everywhere. He drop kicks (Predators like WWE, true story) the Alien in the face killing it, With the Aliens last action it skewers the Marine with it's razor sharp tail who in turn screams "GAME OVER MAN" as he fires randomly with his pulse rifle into the air, bizarrely one shot hit's the Predator between the eyes killing it stone dead. :francis:

Of course if you haven't seen the movies the above will just read like complete gibberish.

If you had the chance to improve the PlayStation and/or PSN store, what one thing would you like to see implemented?

I'd beat Playstation Home to the ground with a big stick, Stuff it in a cannon then fire it directly in to the sun! Honestly, Who came up with that nonsense? Someone should be made accountable and punished. Maybe tarred & feathered publicly? So yer I'd get rid of that along with trying to sell me Singstar. Look Mr.PSN-SALES, I'm Scottish, The only way I'm singing is when I'm stupidly drunk at a karaoke.

I was delighted to hear used games wouldn't be blocked on the PS4 but at the same time I was really dissapointed to hear that it won't be backwards compatible. If I could change anything it would be to make them reverse that decision.

PS : Nearly forgot, The PS3 browser! Is there any room left in that cannon?

If you could add one title to the PSN store from any gaming system past or present what would it be?

Planscape Torment deserves to be noticed again but for now I'll go with Day of The Tentacle by Lucasarts. They just don't write games with such humour & wit anymore. I have a lot of gaming moments that made me sit back and think just wow! A lot of those moments came from the point & click adventures we were treated to in the 1990s. Time travel via portable toilets, What's not to like about that? :D

How much of a certified trophy whore are you? Does the trophy list play any part in the decision to play or buy a game, or do you base that decision entirely on the game?

Like any of our members I love to hear that trophy popping sound, But I'm not a whore, Well sometimes at weekends I put on a dress and become Joanne .... Sorry I've said to much. Anyway, I follow games that are due for release usually when they get announced, If the story and gameplay seems appealing to me then I'll buy it. The trophies are a bonus and although they are very enjoyable to earn, I won't let them decide whether or not I purchase it or go for a games platinum trophy.

I will never judge someone who plays easier games either, I recently took part in our communities excellent Trophy Hunters League tournament so I tried renting some 'kids games', Some of them were great fun, I admit I was surprised at how much I liked some of them like Rango for example. Although Hannah Montanna? Nope I aint having that one, Sorry guys, Take your shame!

What would you say was your proudest platinum and why?

I don't have any of the mega hard impressive platinums that some of our members hold. I think I'll go with LittleBigPlanet to 100%, It was the first time I played any kind of Co-Op on my PS3 and met some really nice helpful people because of it. The game itself is so unusual, It has it's challenging moments and a few of the levels I done whilst playing with my stroppy teenage son, Getting him to help with anything is a platinum trophy in itself.

If the end of the world was nigh and you had to grab three games/franchises to take with you to play out your final days to, what would they be?

Three? Does it have to be games? Can't I take two women & my dog? Jennifer Anniston, Brooklyn Decker & Archie would be just awesome.....No?

Grand Theft Auto - You can plough so many hours into this franchise & not be bored. I mean you can spend 10 hours in Liberty City just causing trouble without doing a single mission.

Planscape Torment - One of the most in-depth stories and adventures to ever grace a computer. Just fantastic.

Elder Scrolls Skyrim - This is on my backlog shelve but everything I hear about it is positive, And it has hours upon hours of gameplay to keep me amused when I'm get tried of running over prostitutes in GTA.

Everyone in the football thread knows of your famous drunken posts, the question we all have is: what do you drink to get yourself to that stage :p?

You might find this hard to believe, But I don't drink much, It's just that when I do I tend to have what I call a 'Meeks Meltdown Session'. I'm not someone who can go out for a couple of light refreshments, If I have one drink then I automatically go into 'Let's get buckled and wake up in a wheelie bin' mode. It's a Scottish thing. When I do drink, It's beer until I get bored then I switch to either Vodka, Jagermeister, Jack Daniels or Champagne.

Have you heard of a beer called Skull Splitter? Seems rather fitting for the morning after eh?

The name is very apt, That's an Ale I think? Brewed up in The Orkney Islands, I hate ale though if I'm being honest, Tastes like athlete's foot (apparently).

You must have 4 pairs of arms having 4 kids and still having time to game surely? How do you fit it in?

Considering the commitments I have I'm pretty lucky regarding the game time I get. Don't get me wrong I still miss the days of having my own place, Gaming until my brain gave up. Now I'm a married man who's one short of a five a side team who tries to hunt trophies in between breaking up kid fights and arguing with the wife, I wouldn't change it for the world though, In many ways I'm a very lucky guy to have what I do.

Just gave myself an idea, kidsfights.com! Oi! That's mine, Patent pending!

What brought you to PS3T and what keeps you coming back?

When I bought my PS3 the first game that drew my attention to trophies was Heavy Rain, I was mesmerized by how unique it was. When I realised that the noise and small window appearing at the top right of my screen was trophies being earned, I had to investigate further. I knew I was going to need help in completing the entire trophy list so went on to trusty old google, I signed up pretty much straight away and have been active since.

Being part of this community for me is as fun as playing the PS3 games themselves. The site is ran really well, Bullying or flaming isn't tolerated, New players aren't singled out they are instead helped along and encouraged. There's lot's of events to be involved in which is excellent and gives our community a sense of unity. All those things and the chance to let the guys & gals in the Football Thread know why my teams are superior to theirs keep me coming back

If you were an admin of PS3T for a day, what would you do and why?

I'd add a fishing smiley http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/images/smilies/bwe/reeling-smiley.gif for when I fish around our forum for bites ;)

I'd message every single member asking if they had seen the Continuum Transfunctioner, A device whose mystery is only exceeded by its power.

Any final words for the community?

I'd like to thank every member of the staff for the work & effort they contribute everyday towards keeping our community run as smoothly as it does, thanks also go to our contributors for the excellent guides, roadmaps & news stories they continually post for us all to enjoy. Finally without the vast ammount of members we have posting, discussing & being involved everyday PS3T wouldn't be what it is so a big thanks to you all as well. :applause:

I'd like to wish Jmowen the very best of luck as he steps down from the staff to concentrate on his health and going back to school. You deserve some good news mate, I really hope you get what's required to give you the life you've earned.

I've had the pleasure of meeting some really awesome people durng my time at PS3T, I plan to stay in touch with them whatever the future may hold (unless I get hit by a bus, Then you won't hear from me). I won't name people as I'd be here all day but you know who you are :) Drop me a visitor message anytime, Or I can usually be found loitering in The Football or MMA Threads, Drop by and mock Liverpool, Sorry I mean say hi :D

A wise man once said : "When I was 5 years old, My mother always told me happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, They asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, I told them they didn't understand life." John Lennon.

Weird thing is, In Scotland we accuse the northern bunch (Aberdeen ect) of tampering with the sheep as well.

A Leisure Center! :rimshot:
