Remember 2009? That’s when Aliens: Colonial Marines was originally due to hit shelves. It didn’t come out in 2010 and 2011 will be no exception, as the president of Gearbox Software Randy Pitchford has stated that there will be no Aliens: Colonial Marines this year.
It would seem that the studio is dedicating most of it’s resources on Duke Nukem Forever and the inevitable Borderlands sequel, so one would assume that the Aliens game is the last thing on their mind at the present time. It’s too bad, from what little we’ve seen it looked like it could be a great Aliens game and lord knows that franchise needs more love, as the last game (Aliens Vs Predator) wasn’t so great to play Link: Aliens: Colonial Marines Delayed Beyond 2011 | RipTen Videogame Blog

Gearbox denies Aliens: Colonial Marines delay
Gearbox is denying an earlier report by Destructoid that Aliens: Colonial Marines has been pushed beyond 2011. According to Gearbox head Randy Pitchford, someone's confused because he assures that Aliens: Colonial Marines has not been delayed at all, saying, "I haven't seen the issue of Edge that the NeoGAF story is referencing or what was printed, but I am certain that I haven't discussed anything specific regarding Aliens: Colonial Marines with anyone beyond emphasising how passionate I am about the title and how committed my studio and I are to making it great." He continued: "It looks to me like whomever made that post on NeoGAF made an interpretation that could be misleading or inaccurate. I am excited that there is so much interest in the game that stories like this tend to pop up literally out of nowhere and from nothing," he continued, "and I am looking forward to talking more about Aliens: Colonial Marines very soon so that speculation and arbitrariness can be replaced with tangible, reliable and accurate information." Destructoid also claimed that Gearbox had pushed Aliens: Colonial Marines to work on Borderlands 2, which Pitchford says doesn't exist: "I respect Jim Sterling (Destructoid journalist), and his audience and I'm a little surprised he didn't bother to try to e-mail myself or our folks before extrapolating that NeoGAF post even further. Jim even referenced Borderlands 2? What's Borderlands 2? Bah! And El Oh El!" SEGA is reportedly planning a full reveal of the game in early 2011.Source: Eurogamer

Gearbox really know how to wind us up... I'm not sure about you guys, but I grew out of Duke Nukem about 10 years ago, its just mindless violence, wish they would just bring this damn game out...
Though saying that, I remember this being announced on PS2 and it looked terrible. The games looking pretty good this time around, so the wait may be worth it. |

I'm fine with it being delayed if it comes out being a great game. This is something that I've been wanting to play for awhile. I actually enjoyed Aliens vs. Predator, and I'm hoping this will be just as fun if not more fun.
