Platinum difficulty rating: The average difficulty of the platinum out of 10. It may vary depending on skill level.
Example: Terminator Salvation is rated 1 or 2, but Fight Night Round 4 is rated 9 or 10

Platinum trophy: A platinum trophy is rewarded for earning all the base trophies in a game. DLC trophies are not needed for the platinum (excluding The Eye Of Judgment). Then some are actually impossible, like FIFA 09. Most PSN Games don't have a platinum trophy, but there are exceptions. The same applies for retail games. A platinum trophy is the highest on the scale of trophies & rewards the most amount of points to your trophy level.
Examples:
- I earned the WWE: Legends Of WrestleMania platinum trophy after earning every other trophy in the game.
- Some platinum trophies are easy, like Hannah Montana The Movie. While others are hard, like Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Silver trophy: A silver trophy is rewarded for accomplishing a mildly difficult task in a game. A silver trophy is second from bottom on the scale of trophies & rewards the second least amount of points to your trophy level.
Example:
- I earned the "Steel Fist Expert" Trophy in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves after defeating 10 enemies in a row with a single punch, after softening them up with gunfire. Achieving this is mildly difficult so a Silver Trophy is correctly rewarded.

Most trophy guides on PS3T.org include spoiler tags to show that certain trophy descriptions or methods might include spoilers and ruin the story for certain player
Example: The story-related trophies in God of War III are hidden trophies because they include spoilers.

Stackable games: Games that have several trophy-packs with their different region-versions
Most players play stackable games to increase their platinum-trophy count without having to play something new and just repeating what they did before
Example: The USA version of Demon's Souls has one trophy-pack and its Chinese version has another trophy pack.

Stackable trophies: Usually pertaining to difficulty (easy, medium, hard, etc) trophies; when multiple trophies can be unlocked if the trophy with the hardest requirements is unlocked.
Example: In Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, beating the game on hard unlocks the trophies for beating the game on hard, medium, and easy.

Story based trophies: A set of trophies that will be achieved by completing the story line of a game (unmissable).
Example: Terminator Salvation trophy set contains all story based trophies.

Sync to server: This will send all your newly earned trophies to a secure server. Sony has not allowed automatic syncing, so it is critical that you manually sync to server whenever you earn a tough trophy or multiple trophies. Sync to Server is located on the XMB by hitting triangle on the trophies section in the Games menu or by just accessing your profile in the Friends menu.
Example: You should sync to server after every gaming session you have.
