How many (life apples and magic ups) are you supposed to end up with?

(Nevermind citizens. Life is precious trophy, GOT!)

I can't remember the exact # of life shards but I'm pretty sure there are 8 magic ups throughout the game.

Check egfoolheads guide like it says in the trophy guide,and go to "lifeshards"(who'da thought?). I'm almost positive it's 37 and you only need 36.

I got the platinum already. Plus, I posted just below my question that I got the trophy concerning life shards. So..

I wish I knew where the last one was. I didn't get the trophy yet and have 3/4 of the last apple according to the menu. The guide says there's enough to have one extra shard, and I planned on skipping the most annoying one. Retraced my steps and everything according to the guide so I dunno what was left off somehow...
