I think more options and diversity never hurts. So I'm all for it.

I don't care though, as I prefer playing male characters when abilities are all the same. When the female character has unique abilities, of course I'll play her (common in fighting games where everyone has a different move set and some females are very fun to play as - Chun Li, Cammy, Asuka Kazama, etc).
