Of course I use it. It took a while to get it how you do it though. I was so frustrated when I didn't get it at first. And by the way, pressing just triangle won't work. You have to hold the left stick to the direction where you will do the evade move (like away from the bad guy swinging the knife) as you press triangle three times.
