I think on PSP the Challenge difficulty depended on difficulty on latest save file, or the one you finished game on. Is it the same on this too? If yes, then might be good idea to have a save on Easy before starting challenges, if you're struggling with them.

difficulty only effects the story and not challenges like all other GOW titles.
