lmao, it is sooooo easy to open a game and reseal it like it hasnt been opened, i used to do this all the time with cds b4 the whole internet d/l started, id buy a cd from hmv take it home, copy it and return it still sealed!
if u open at the top or bottom , you can then slide case out and just slide it back in and seal with a lil' glue.
Thats what i reckon happened to you, someone bought it, platted it , sealed it up then sold it on to a mug!
Unless your buying from a reputable store, id watch what you buy.
These days its just as cheap to buy games new anyways, maybe not when first releaesd, but most games will drop by atleast 50% of their price a month or 2 after release. Well they do here in Uk anyways.
The reason game companies charge this, is because they dont make any money when someone buys their game secondhand.
Servers cost money to run, so they have to get the money somehow.
I usually only buy games new for this reason, as i was caught out b4 on these online passes, when i bought a game secondhand.
Its usually about 3-4 quid cheaper to get secondhand games, id rather pay that 3-4 quid extra and get a brand new game!
Ive even gone in stores and the same game is considerably cheaper when you buy it new!
Take Brink for example, when it came out its was 40-45 quid, if you bought it new and sold it back to them within a week they probably give you £30 for it and sell it as seconhand for £35-£38, now because this game is shit, a few weeks later it drops in price to £15 for a new copy, but the store still has secondhand copies in store for £35+, because they paid out £30 for it!!
Its even possible to buy new games online, then open them and sell them to stores as secondhand to make money on!
I have done this b4, about 2 weeks after infamous 2 came out, i saw it on zavvi for £27 new, i also saw on gamestation that they would buy it for £30 secondhand, so i ordered 3 copies of it, kept one for myself and traded in the other 2 to game & gamestation, because if you trade in insrtead of selling for cash you get more money, for £54 cash , i got £72 in credit at the store!!!
