I bought a 250gb HDD for my 4gb slim 360 off of ebay and it arrived yesterday. The seller assured me that this was an official MSFT HDD. The case on the HDD did look like it comparing it to pictures online. I decided to run the XBOX 1 test, I bought an XBOX game off of the BC list and it will not work on this thing.

I paid $70 for it. I'm not concerned about BC, but should I be concerned with a non MSFT HDD? I know how MSFT is with accessories that aren't MSFT branded, but all these years they haven't done anything to shutdown the use of 3rd party HDD's.
