^I did the same. Although I bought the DLC dresses/weapons pack I didn't use any on my first play through. I'm going through again on Nightmare now, and with the combo of dresses + weapons + new game+ it really does make it a breeze.

I really like how much detail they put into the dresses and weapons, and it's a very nice touch that when you upgrade the default weapons their in-game appearance changes to signify that. Really spiffy. All the dresses are really different and appealing.

I'd definitely buy the DLC again. For 2$ how can you go wrong.
