Is it not just to be first to the goal? =P
Just remember to follow the route, the game is very strict on that, but every time you run out of the screen, just hold L1! xD No need to be fancy on slowing down on the turns either, just hold L1 when you go outside!

EDIT:
Oh, I know what you mean now, but really it's just a normal race... first to the finish line! There is just one catch! xD You need to manually shift gear! (on the pad, use up and down to change gear.)
