INTRODUCTION
Brink is a timed objective class-based FPS mixing in elements from Team Fortress 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Borderlands. The game's trophies can be obtained offline, online, or a mix of both offline and online gameplay (4 challenge trophies must be obtained offline, see Challenge-Related Trophies in the guide for more information). Trying to attain all trophies offline is a difficult task and the game is significantly easier when played online. The game will immerse you into a unique art style with hundreds of customizable characters traits, abilities and weapon modifications.

There are four character classes: the Soldier, the Medic, the Engineer, and the Operative. The Medic heals fallen teammates and buffs their teammates' health. The Operative can get intel (radar) on enemy locations, performs acts of hacking, and disguises himself as the enemy. The Engineer can repair, upgrade, and remove hack boxes/Timed-C4/Landmines. The soldier can plant C4 and replenish ammo. Each class has a specific "buff" they can apply to themselves and team mates and as you level up you can purchase more buffs to apply. Players can customize their characters and buy items with experience points, which are earned by completing objectives. You will need to change classes at in game "Command Posts" in order to complete progressive objectives in the level you are playing, for example you might be required to start as a soldier to blow up a door but then the next objective requires you to be an operative in order to hack a safe. You can depend on team mates to do the objectives however they don't do them well.

Important note is that anything accomplished in single player (offline) will also carry over to multiplayer (online). In other words the game is indifferent to your stats when playing online or offline. If you reach level 14 in offline play, when you play online your character used in matches will also be level 14 and retain all abilities, upgrades and mods you've applied previously.

Feel free to watch this video I made showing Brink's interface, customization and discussing trophies:

STEP ZERO - THINGS TO BE AWARE OF BEFORE STARTING THE GAME
In Brink there is one annoying collectable trophy, "Well that was Educational" which requires you to complete EACH primary objective (for offline play) as both the defending and attacking team. For example if one map requires the Resistance to defend a computer from being hacked, you will need to remove a hack box that the enemy places on the objective for it to count as being defended. In terms of offense, if the objective is to place a charge on a door, you will have to go to the objective as a soldier and place the charge and ensure it detonates in order for it to be counted as the objective being completed. There are 74 audio logs tied to the sum 74+ objectives in the game. You can only earn ONE audio log from winning a match at a time in offline mode requiring 74 individual games that you win. You attain 2 audio logs per match you win when you play in Co-Op. More details will come on this after. It is assumed at this time that playing through the co-op campaign twice will unlock all audio logs (unconfirmed) making this trophy significantly easier.

One more thing to be wary of is how you are spending your upgrade points when you level up. You will be required to purchase several different class abilities for certain trophies. See the "Class Specific Trophies" section for blue text next to trophies that require certain abilities to attain. The required abilities you will need to purchase are:
Grenade Shooting - Under Universal, available from level 1
Transfer Supplies - Under Medic, available when you reach level 4
Command Post Upgrade - Under Engineer, available when you reach level 4
Cortex Bomb - Under Operative, available when you reach level 14
Satchel Charge - Under Soldier, available when you reach level 20

STEP ONE - COMPLETE ALL 4 CHALLENGES
After you've created a character, before jumping into the campaign it is recommended that you play Brink's Challenge Mode. There are 4 challenges each consisting of 3 difficulties (one, two and three stars). The reason you want to do this step first is because it will unlock all weapons and attachments for you to outfit your weapons with across all characters (if you make more) making the campaign mode easier. See the Challenge-Related Trophies section of the trophy guide for video walkthroughs I made on each challenge. When you've completed this step, enter the character customization and outfit any weapons you want to use.

Total time investment: 2-4 Hours

STEP TWO - COMPLETE THE RESISTANCE & SECURITY CAMPAIGNS ON EASY/IN ONLINE VERSUS MODE
Now that you've completed the challenges you will be able to play any campaign mission with the weapons and attachments you've unlocked. If you are playing this game offline it is recommended to play all 6 story missions as well as the "What If" missions on each side (16 missions total) on easy first as it will lessen headaches when you replay the campaign on hard (as you'll get a feel for maps, where objectives are, etc). You can start the game on hard and try to knock all the story-related trophies out in a single run however if playing offline you'll need to grind out the audio logs anyways which requires 74 offline wins so you might as well play on easy first to avoid headaches. You will attain all 6 story related trophies in this step if played on easy (see the Story-Related Trophies section of the guide).

If you are playing and win the full campaign in online versus mode you will also automatically attain the "Tough as Nails" trophy and will NOT be required to beat the game on hard mode (offline). You can knock out all 7 story related trophies with 1 playthrough in online Versus Mode. This is the preferable step making the "Tough as Nails" trophy much easier to attain, especially if you're playing with a formalized squad of friends.

Total time investment: 8-14 (offline) |or| 7-14 (if playing online Versus Mode)

STEP THREE - REPLAY THE CAMPAIGN ON HARDEST DIFFICULTY (Only if playing offline)
If your first playthrough the campaign was offline on easy mode you'll be required to play the campaign again on Hard Mode. If you played through the campaign in online Versus Mode then skip this step. Enemies do more damage, are more aggressive, there are more "heavy" body types (meaning they have larger health and more deadly weapons) and your teammates (AI) start off doing very little support until time winds down.

Total time investment: 16-24 Hours |or| 7-14 (if playing online Versus Mode)

STEP FOUR - CLEAN UP IN FREEPLAY MODE FOR AUDIO LOGS
You'll most likely attain many of the objective specific and basic class specific trophies when playing through the game for the story-related trophies but if you're missing any now is the time to clean them up. In freeplay mode you can adjust settings to aid you in attaining any class specific or misc trophies you need if required. (see the Collectible-Related Trophies section of the guide).

Total time investment: 19-27 Hours (offline) |or| 10-18 (if played online Versus Mode)
